To most people, it's a mysterious black box. After this Fall Fest, it won't be — not to you. Four Tuesdays, starting 20 October, that take you from "I've heard of it" to running a real IBM quantum computer yourself. No physics, no experience needed.
Registration opens Friday 16 Oct · 5:00 PM
A hands-on bootcamp that starts on Tuesday 20 October — in person, on your own laptop, with our team in the room. It ends with certificates and the launch of the hackathon.
The Bootcamp Registration required
Every bootcamp session is a Tuesday at 14:00. Finish all four and you receive a Certificate of Participation from IBM Quantum.
We follow IBM Qiskit's "Use a Quantum Computer Today" course — together, in person, hands-on, with a team beside you the whole way. Finish the bootcamp and "quantum" stops being a buzzword — it becomes a tool you've used, with a certificate from IBM Quantum to show for it.
You'll queue circuits on IBM's actual quantum computers and read back results from genuine qubits — not just a simulator.
Every session is face-to-face with mentors in the room, so the moment you're stuck, someone's there.
Complete the four bootcamp sessions and you receive a Certificate of Participation from IBM Quantum — proof you've programmed a real quantum computer.
The series closes with a hackathon challenge — your chance to turn your new quantum skills into something of your own.
Your laptop thinks in bits — each one is a 0 or a 1, nothing in between. A quantum computer thinks in qubits, and a qubit can lean toward 0 and 1 at the same time. That one strange fact is where all the power comes from.
This sphere is the qubit's home: the north pole means 0, the south pole means 1, and everywhere in between is superposition. Drag it to look around.
Press the H gate to swing the arrow into superposition, then Measure — and watch reality pick an answer.
In the bootcamp you'll write the same experiment in Python and run it on IBM's real quantum processors — machines kept colder than outer space.
Qiskit Fall Fest is IBM Quantum's annual, student-run celebration of quantum computing, hosted on campuses around the world every fall. This is the Birzeit University edition — brought to you by the BZU Quantum Computing Community, with the Innovation and Development Unit.
The Fall Fest opened with a day where campus went quantum. Thank you to everyone who walked in.
Quantum games, puzzle challenges and booths from student clubs across campus — built for people who had never heard of quantum computing.
An hour on what a quantum computer actually is, what Qiskit does, and why any of it matters — live on the big screen, watched together in the room.
Four Tuesdays starting 20 October, your laptop, and a seat in the room — that's the whole commitment.
